| Watched this judge tell an owner 3 times to take their dog down and back because the dog was not walking correctly. After the 3rd time I guess he got what he wanted and awarded it WB Didn’t ask anyone else to take their dogs down and back so it was obvious he made up his mind but had to get what he wanted from the dog first. | ||||||||

| Very inconsistent in his choices. Needs to stick to the standard and make his choices based in the best dog. | ||||||||

| Pleasant judge to show under just like his wife, soft hands, patient and baby talks to dogs to make dogs comfortable. He is more of a movement/profile judge. Very quiet and quick with his examinations. He will pick what he likes | ||||||||

| Did a nice job judging OH Sporting group. Picked nice moving dogs. In breed, he went with handlers. | ||||||||

| VERY consistent! Will reward other judges showing to him. | ||||||||

| Selected Japanese unfinished bald girl (with wealthy owners), pretty but poor movement, very small not only for BOB over multiple grand champions, but for BIS. This is how you kill dog shows, and encourage poor breeding. | ||||||||

| Read all past post of this gentleman, and I must admit I was leary of showing under him. I have an 8 month old puppy. He was friendly, was not rough handed on my dog, and was very thorough on his examination of both dogs entered, and picked the best of the two. Judging the terrier group he did not look at the end of the leash, he judged the dogs! Will show under again. | ||||||||

| This judge has a heavy hand and a careless manner, and when he approached the table, he grabbed the beard on the Scotties to steady the head, while asking you to show the bite. Not acceptable! Regardless if I win or lose, this kind of judging technique is over the top. He is on my ever growing DNS list. | ||||||||

| Didn't take time to go over dogs very thoroughly. Seemed to be in a hurry. Knowledge of some breeds' standards very suspect. | ||||||||

| Although Mr Richards is very pleasant and talks to every dog in good tone, he has NO clue what a dachshund should look like. I think he basically just picked the first one in line as he had no clue. There were at least 4 out of 8 quality bitches in the ring and he picked one that backed away on the table, was snapping at dogs outside the ring and even nailed one (but it belonged to her friend), massive stop on its head, very high in the rear and flat front. On my DNS list for sure. | ||||||||

| Knows nothing about breed standard, appropriate size, head, or coat. VERY political, DNS list.. Watched him judge many breeds | ||||||||

| Observed him judging several breeds today. Paid most of attention to terriers. Mr. Richard was pleasant, but had somewhat odd ring procedure: he gave a good look to each dog on the table, but not in line-up. Basically it was no line-up. I suppose this is his normal style. I had to agree with most of his placements till it came to miniature schnauzers. In those I do not think he cares much for black dogs and just plain tried to play safe - put the most mature S/P bitch over puppies for the winner bitch and S/P male Ch for BOB. Neither of those two dogs would be my choice on this show, but I would give this judge another try. | ||||||||

| While he comes from Pugs originally, Mr Richards has worked hard to understand the nuances of Sporting breeds. He will put up a deserving young class dog over Specials, no matter who is on the lead. He has soft hands and good demeanor with both dogs and exhibitors. Not as positive in Group where he will always defer to handlers on common breeds. | ||||||||

| Knows the breed and knows the head properties. I thought he did a good job. Not a warm and fuzzy guy but not impatient or rude, either. Would show to again. | ||||||||

| I did not feel this judge was consistent, not very friendly in ring, did not do a very thorough exam. He appeared to pay more attention to pretty heads, not structure, or movement | ||||||||

| Don't bother if you don't know this guy personally..He totally ignored a dog that is the #1 for a moderate so so dog with a handler. I watched him judge...on my DNS list just because...And he looks nothing like his picture... | ||||||||

| Seemed to like moderate well moving and pretty. Put up non handler for BOB. | ||||||||
| Jul 30, 2013 | Pembroke | PWC | ||||||
| Enjoyed showing to this judge. Seemed to really like his assignment. He smiled all the time, even held an exhibitor's dog while she ran out and grabbed her number. Will show to him again. | ||||||||

| Does not follow req'd procedure when judging . Failure to check teeth. Does not know the GSD standard, does not judge on Type or Movement. On the DNS list for sure. | ||||||||

| Confused - put up handler/judge cronies with less than desirable entries - then put up the worst of the specials for breed - no more entries from me - this sport is too expensive for such ridiculous antics. | ||||||||

| Liked him very much. Seems to really like movement. Easy to show to. Seemed to like the more eloquent dogs with good movement. | ||||||||
| Aug 14, 2010 | annon | herding | ||||||
| although i have shown to him a very sound beautiful moving dog with nice conformation, he has shot him down each time for a dog that is straight in the front and as less than movement | ||||||||

| movement, movement, movement. Will have larger breeds do two go-rounds. If your dog doesn't move well, he won't do well under Del. | ||||||||

| NO idea of breed type, put up dog with soft/low set ears that was very fearful. | ||||||||
