Nice lady. If you have a good toy, forget this judge. She wont put up anything good that might beat the dog her daughter handling. Clueless

Truly does not care to learn about the breed so it’s easier to award everything to the local ring jockey with inferior specimens.

I show terriers and I know I will win under her - today I won with a dog that was not a good example and there were several in the ring far better. I am being quite honest.

Handlers’ judge. I showed one of my dogs in BBE, the other with a handler. My boy got a 4 pt. Major; he was with the handler. It’s all about the handlers. On my DNS list. I might add that I find it odd that she and her husband were both judging my breed that weekend, one on Saturday the other on Sunday. Don’t think this is very fair.

Showed under this woman this past weekend in Springfield MO. She is very gentle going over the dogs. My issue with her was her professionalism. We were in the best of breed ring, male special, bitch special, WD, WB. She liked the male special (had given him OH group 2 the day before) and the 7 month old WB. Both are nice dogs. Her picks is not what I found upsetting was her comment to the competitors is there were only 2 smooths that were pretty in her ring. HUGE on my DNS list.

did not disappoint she found the only handler in the ring and put up a dog that could barely walk- she and her husband on both on my DNS list do not wast your money-or get a handler

This judge gave an unknown owner reserve at a national. Loved that she loved my girl. Very nice to dogs and exhibitors. I will definitely try to find her again.

Mrs. Abbott picked all handlers in every single class! It makes me wonder if she even knows the breed standard? Save your money and time, or hire a handler.
Jun 3, 20151AnonymousBulldogs
Blatantly picked handlers across the board regardless of the quality of the dog on the end of the lead. Worst display of judging I have ever seen. The majority of the dogs in the ring were owner handled yet not a single one of them was awarded anything. Handlers across the board. Wouldn't show to her again if the entry were free and the show was across the street.

She seems nice but this was my second entry under her and yet again picked inferior dogs with handlers, for everything. Plenty of nice OH dogs including 3 breeder judges entries. On my DNS, yet another reason entries are in decline.

Pleasant judge and also kind to dogs. She seems to like small dogs with lots of expression and animation. She puts up handlers or well known breeders. I consider this judge a toss up for the average exhibitor.

Judging was very political and she put up much lesser quality animals. Pleasant in the ring, but I would prefer competent.

Nice lady fun and pleasant to show too. She is very political. She likes small Poms with pretty heads. There were some possible questionable coats she put up.

Had been told she liked tiny and did put up the smallest dogs in the ring. Not a judge I would waste my money on as a rule.

She was VERY nice to exhibitors, extremely gentle with the dogs on the table (Boston Terriers), and appeared to look at each & every dog. Based on her awards, I'd say she prefers a smaller sized Boston (under 15 lbs for sure), STRAIGHT fronts, fluid movement, good expression, and alertness. She was VERY consistent in her awards. She had no interest at all in any of the larger entries. Although I may not have awarded exactly as she did, I could easily follow her awards and see what she liked. Also, she was NOT handler-oriented at all. BOB (WD/BOW) went to a 6-9 month puppy shown by his owner, BOS went to an OH as well, but she's been showing since she was a young girl and is as good as any pro handler, SD went to an OH, SB to a handler. WB went to an OH. I did not win under her (again...), but will still continue to show to her, especially now that I think I know what she likes.

I watched several breeds other than just my own. She is not one of my favourite judges as I do feel she can be political. Not given the option of familiar faces or handlers, I think she does pick good dogs. But i have never seen her put up a face, without that face having a decent dog. Her group placements were totally political. Many nice owner handler dogs, but she put up all handlers. I did appreciate the fact she gave folks time to get dogs set up before starting to examine them. She did pick consistent type tho. Not a bad judge at all, and I would probably enter under her again, but with the knowledge, I can go home rather than go to Group. This is our 3rd time showing under her.

I did Not see any heavy handedness today. She was very pleasant in the ring. Good with the the dogs & good ring procedure. My Bred-By dog did win the points today (major), but she dumped my specials dog who is usually in the ribbons, I will still enter to her again as I feel she was fair to all who entered & she did do a good job in her dog & bitch classes.

Showed to Mrs. Abbott and again enjoyed showing to her. As usual, she was pleasant, soft spoken, easy with dogs on the table, and did not look at the north end of the lead. I still did not win, but still agreed with the majority of her placements. She did put a puppy up for BOB over multiple specials and a very young BBE bitch for BOS (over specials), so she is obviously not afraid to make placements as she sees fit.

Very fair judge, knows what type she likes, but wants nice movement. Seems like she will put up soundess over type alone.

Very polite and pleasant judge. Doesn't nesessary go for names or handlers. Worth to show under her if you have a good dog and don't fall into those 2 cathegories

Very polite judge with clear instructions. She seemed to enjoy judging Bostons and gave every dog a fair look. She was also very easy on the table and gentle with inexperienced dogs/pups. I did not win, but thoroughly enjoyed showing to her. She seemed to look at expression and attention a LOT (which is a significant trait of our breed) as well as movement and topline. I agreed with her awards for the most part and will certainly show to her again.

Nice lady who I enjoy showing under. She appears to prefer smaller size, more refined, and pretty heads and expressions. Very gentle with exams (but she's a Maltese breeder and understands toy temperaments).

Ms Abbott is all professionalism. She knows what she likes and is great with puppies and dogs on the table. I think she enjoys the antics of my breed. She likes elegance and lots of hackney movement.
Apr 13, 20093ThomasItalian Greyhounds
Mrs. Abbott did not place my IG but did take the time after her morning assignment to critique him for me. She is knowledgeable of the breed but did place several poor typey IGs with apple heads and hackney and very poor fiddle fronts. This is not acceptable in the IG standard. I will not show to her again until she becomes enlightened.

More knowledgable in toys than sporting. She is "great", just ask her! Tends to put up the better advertisers.
Jun 28, 20081Woodwynd DalmatiansDamatians
VERY heavy handed. Not a good judge to take a puppy or a green dog to. Rushed through assignment as if she had an appointment to go to.

seems to not have a clue in setters - her picks were all over the place!! Save your money...

I find her to be very nice, good with the dogs. Appears to appreciate good movement.

Mrs. Abbott is a poor excuse for a judge. She is both impressed with herself, and puts up people, not dogs. She is also an assignment trader! Save your money

Knows the standard and will put up the best dog in the ring friend or not. It can be perceived as her friends but she has been in showing for so long she knows a lot of people.
Sep 3, 20073Terry Rothellvarious Toy BreedsExpert!
I have found her to be consistant in the type and attitude she looks for but have also found it helps to be someone she knows with that type dog on the lead. She likes pretty small-med size well groomed and I don't think over groomed is in her vocabulary.
Aug 26, 20073SunclipseTibetan Terriers
Advertise, advertise, advertise! Then become a handler. Sour grapes, no, just the facts. Puts up only well known handlers, better yet, HIRE ONE! She does not judge dogs, only those that handle them.
Jun 21, 20072Deb-D-DogSilky Terrier
She put up her friends and fellow kennel club member without hesitation. Did not take any time with other dogs. After judging, she blatently went over to talk with her friends, for 15 minutes, in front of the other exhibitors.

Wonderful judge who will take a chance on a novice handler and puppy. Not political and has a good knowledge of the breed standard.
